Mythology of the Metropolis is the highly anticipated third album from Zack Wright, AKA Deceptikon, debuting this month on Daly City Records. Easily his most ambitious work to date, the genre-hopping, bass-heavy epic is equally suited for the home stereo and dance floor alike. Monstrous analog basslines, mangled vocals, vocoded samples, and thumping drums coalesce to form yet-unnamed genres. Just call it exquisitely designed, innovative music.

Jamaica NEW ALBUM!! and more...

STEP 1: CHOOSE A NAME
When French born Antoine Hilaire and Flo Lyonnet decided to start a band, they spent many hours trying to think of the name that they would forever be remembered by. They were surprised to find that no one had ever used the bold and smarty, JAMAICA.
STEP 2: WRITE SONGS
They took three weeks to write songs that focused not only on sleek melodies, but also on rousing guitar riffs and dry bass grooves. By scattering in piano chords or acoustic guitars as well as resurrecting the guitar solo, JAMAICA created a sound that is a meeting between a grungehead's obsession and a rockers wet dream.
STEP 3: RECORD THE SONGS
Before they could begin recording the album, JAMAICA had to find someone up to the challenge of producing their songs. Antoine and Flo looked through lists of Grammy Award winners and came up with two candidates: Peter J. Franco and Xavier de Rosnay. Both were available and agreed to work with the band on one condition: that no synthesizers would be involved. Shortly thereafter they settled into Motorbass studio in Paris, France with a minimal and unconventional set up. Within a few months they had completed an album which meets today's thirst for chromed production.
STEP 4: SHOOT A VIDEO
With its upbeat structure and cocky guitar chorus JAMAICA's "I Think I Like U 2" seemed an appropriate starting point for a first video and to present the storyline of the duo. Fortunately Antoine and Flo had a talented young video director among their friends by the name of So-Me. His brilliant idea was to structure the video relaying the band’s history from A to (fabricated) Z. The video follows the musicians from their modest beginnings and the formation of the band through JAMAICA becoming an overwhelming international success to their fall into psychedelic trips and eventually jail.
STEP 5 : GET IN A COMMERCIAL
An instrumental version of "I Think I Like U 2" is featured in the new
Volkswagen ‘Tiguan’ SUV commercial

Only Man (Reset! Remix)
“Only Man,” the lead single from Audio Bullys’ first album in four years, Higher Than The Eiffel, is as heart-on-a-sleeve as windbreakered ravers get, though Milan’s Reset!’s lost a bit of that romance in his corrugating electro-fidget jowls.

Electric Tastebuds Interview & more..

What is the idea behind Electric Tastebuds Records?
I set up Electric Tastebuds as an outlet for my own music to start with but then some mates came on board and it has slowly progressed from there. I think its easier to release music now due to the internet and when writing dance music you want it to be heard in clubs as soon as possible, so setting up the label made this easier to do. I hope to keep putting out good club tunes and in the future expand the sound of the label.
When was it started?
The label was started in Jan 2008 and got nominated for best breakthrough label at breakspoll 2009.
What kind of music do you release?
At the moment the music is a club sound based around breaks, but im hoping to add some down tempo albums in the future.
What’s been you biggest release to date?
Everything You Need. Smash Hifi has been the biggest release and was accompanied by a video.
Where are you based?
Im based in the UK in Essex
Why run a label? Times are hard in the music industry now, right?
I run the label because I enjoy it, im djing every week and get to play the music , that I release. You have to be realistic and know its not about money the industry is hard but, if we all give up there will be no industry.
What’s coming up?
Well im just getting back into studio mode after getting the Tasty Episode 1 album prepared and released, and have started a mix album with all the tracks from the album and some new tracks, ive also added some mashed up beats and riffs. Then it will be back to getting some new releases ready.
And as usual... something to listen:

Studio Rockers Interview & EXCLUSIVE Trip Brothaz Milktape

What is the idea behind Studio Rockers Records ?
The Idea behind Studio Rockers is to make great music and keep pushing forward the boundaries of dubstep, as well as promoting new talent wherever possible.
When was it started?
Studio Rockers was started 3 years ago by Tony Thorpe A.KA The Moody boyz.
What kind of music do you release?
We release dubstep of all different shapes and sizes, deep dark, jump up, techy… if you want it we’ve got it.
What’s been you biggest release to date?
Our biggest release to date has been “Sensi Samurai” by The Widdler, it’s a storming track that got a huge amount of exposure. However our latest E.P featuring Decyfer & Surje has been a very big release for us also.
Where are you based?
We are based in East London.
Why run a label? Times are hard in the music industry now, right?
Times are hard but if you have the dedication to make it work then that’s what counts, we just concentrate on pushing good music to people that want it. We have just released our first L.P which is a mix of exclusive Studio Rockers tracks which has been received very well, being voted as top compliation of the month in IDJ mag, it just goes to show that the hard work can pay off.

ByrdKick is a blended B-more/electro/filth that was created originally
for a Jay-z Bootleg and ended up being voxed up by Malaysian MC
Arabyrd and also the first track picked by Botchit.
Hustle Muzik is a tune i did a while back one night very late(or
early) and quite buzzed up... Its one of my fav tune as it's a journey
that has soul, release, anger, light, and darkness... Although one said
its a souless track...
My boy Illeagle Immigrant just rips the beat heavy!
How would you describe your sound?
Its very diverse really... And moves every day... i mean what i
produce today is so different than what i was doing 3 months ago...
Really hard to tag it... but i guess it flows between
Hiphop,Electro,Dubstep,Breaks,World music and the sounds outside my
window.
What's your best bit of kit in the studio?
Not sure about the best but my favorite is my super cheap "Vintage"
acoustic guitar... 90 french francs (£80) back then.
How did you hook up with Arabyrd and Stereotyp?
I met Arabyrd through my best mate who is one of the heads at the
Giles Peterson's WorldWide Festival.
He played her some of my joints while in Singapour and she called me
on Skype... next i sent a beat and voila.
We met later that year at the same festival but in Sete (France) and
kept on building.
Stereo i met through the same bunch of people... Through Ara, Al haca,
my peeps at the Worldwide Festival...dope dude! Super chilled...
Where are you based?
I m a West London boy!! 12 years and goin strong...
Describe you DJ style?
In general im pretty hyper and jump like crazy and try to shout louder
than the crowd!
Dj style is again very diverse.. i come from learning Djing through
Techno and Hiphop at the same time.. So altho now i use Serato its
mix, cuts and scratch (not so much scratch tho.)
I also play some sets via Ableton Live. Create my own loops and bang
them with acapellas and other filthy trickeries!
What’s coming up?
Peace i hope...
A few remixes for: Bassnectar, KUBO's Stereotyp, Flore and a few other
filthy minds.
Workin live behind the machines for Nfa (No Fixed Abode) & backing up
